From the supplier: Thousands of health care workers have been adversely affected by the rapid growth of health maintenance organizations in terms of quality care, paperwork, job satisfaction and other factors. The managed care revolution has substantially cut health care costs but has led to increasing complaints from patients and doctors about many things. Less has been written about the effects of managed care on millions of health care workers other than doctors in terms of layoffs, stagnant wages, work speedups and the inability to serve their patients in the manner they know they should.
